Tickets now on sale for the 7th annual Spurn Migration Festival

The Spurn Migration Festival is a weekend-long celebration of the autumn migration of birds and includes an extensive programme of walks, talks and demonstrations that will be delivered by the Festival Team.
The festival runs from the 6th – 8th September 2019 and takes place across Spurn, Kilnsea and Easington. Lectures, exhibitions and food are hosted by Sue and Andrew Wells at Westmere Farm in Kilnsea, together with the now famous Saturday evening Hog Roast and lecture. This year’s keynote talk, Dispersal, migration and speciation in birds is being given by Swedish Professor of Ornithology Per Alstrom. There will also be talks on the identification of Asian leaf warblers in Europe and the amazing bottleneck of Besh Barmeg in Azerbaijan, amongst others.
Across last year’s festival over a hundred species of bird were recorded together with other wildlife. The highlight for many was the close up views of Common Rosefinch and the migration of thousands of Meadow Pipits.The timing of the festival is perfect for seeing birds on the move en masse.
