Swarovski Optik launches new CL Companion Africa range of binoculars
WORDS by James Hamilton

Swarovski have launched an exclusive edition of their popular CL Companion binoculars - inspired by the vibrancy of Africa and colours of African nature: the CL Companion Africa range.
The binoculars feature the same elegant design and proven optical performance package of the current range and are available with an 8x or 10x magnification and an impressive objective diametre of 30mm.
They're compact, have an elegant design and are extremely light-weight - just 500 grams in fact, which do indeed make them a handy travel companion for ad-hoc birding. The armouring is a nice dark brown colour and an exclusive, handcrafted bag made from waxed canvas by US brand ONA protects the binoculars whilst out and about. A comfortable, leather carrying-strap ensures the binoculars are to hand all the time.
The binoculars are extremely comfortable to use with high-precision optics, effective light transmission and come with the respected, hardy, tailor-made Swarovski coatings that guarantee bright, high-contrast images and lifelike colours. The CL Companion Africa range is also dustproof, watertight, and impact-resistant thanks to its robust housing – perfect for intensive use while travelling.
Eyepiece and objective lens covers, a practical hand strap, and a cleaning cloth are also supplied along with an exclusive certificate signed by Carina Schiestl-Swarovski, Chairwoman of the Executive Board. The CL Companion Africa range is available to buy from 1st October 2014 on request from selected specialist retailers, recommended retail prices upon launch are below along with our image gallery.
