Paul Hackett spent 13 hours in a hide last sunday (15th July) and managed to walk away with many images, including this beauty - wow! You can understand his passion, commitment and enthusiasm for his hobby when you nail a photo like this.
Probably one of, if not THE best example of a bird in motion that we have seen captured on a mobile phone, in this case an iPhone 7 Plus, Paul used a combination of his KOWA telephoto lens with a prism and 25-60 zoom eyepiece, Phonescope App and Novagrade double hook adapter to capture a stunning photo that wouldn't be out of place if using some of the most powerful digital cameras around today. He processed the image on his phone using Lightroom and cropped levels for saturation sharpening.
Paul will be giving a lecture at this years Birdfair around 10am on the Saturday and is well worth a follow on his Twitter account.
